Located in the Baa Atoll, Kunfunadhoo Island is one of the largest islands in the Maldives. The resort can be reached by a scenic 30-minute seaplane flight direct from Malé International Airport or a 12-minute speedboat ride for guests scheduled on domestic flights at the nearby Dharavandhoo Airport. Soneva Fushi has a private airport lounge exclusively for Soneva guests at the seaplane terminal.

Luxury Villas In The Maldives – The villas at Soneva Fushi are located on the island’s sunset or sunrise side. While both sides have the Maldives’ signature white-sand beaches and crystal clear azure waters, there are a few differences. Sunset side – For snorkelers – This side has three house reef access points, and dolphins are more likely to be spotted in the channel. On this side of the island, it is possible to see the neighboring island, Eydhafushi, approximately 650 meters away. Guests who want more privacy may consider staying on the sunrise side of the island. Sunrise side: For privacy – Enjoy virtually unimpeded views out to sea, as Maalhos, the closest neighboring island on this site, is just a speck on the horizon. This site is perfect for early risers who want to enjoy the morning tranquillity. The resort features 57 private villas with their own stretch of pristine beach. Designed to offer ultimate privacy and a pure connection with nature, each retreat features open-air bathrooms that extend into a private garden.

The Hosts are happy to customize each experience for a special occasion, celebration, or simply because. “Fresh in the Garden” – Mediterranean, Organic, Vegetarian and Plant-based. Dine high above the gardens, where the aromas of the herbs wafted up from below. The central open kitchen gives you front-row seats to the action. Choose to sit under cover or beneath the starry night sky. “Once Upon a Time” – International – A culinary theatre showcasing some of the biggest names in fine dining. “Out of the Blue” – Asian and International – Dine on Vietnamese and Indonesian cuisine, salads, grilled meats, and seafood. This area also includes: So Hot – a robata grill, josper grill, and pizza area; So Guilty – the chocolate and ice cream parlors; and So Cheesy – the cheese room. “So Hands-On” – Japanese – The sushi counter is run in partnership with Chef Kenji Gyoten, one of only a handful of three-starred Michelin chefs from Japan, whose restaurant has a waitlist of almost a year. The hinoki countertop is Japanese pine, polished with sake.

From the sprawling Den, the children’s club, unending chocolates and ice creams to discovering the marine world with the Marine Biologist, there is something for every fancy and whim.

Soneva Fushi Experiences – Sonu’s Picnic – Embrace the castaway life and try Sonu’s favorite – lunch on a desert island prepared by your personal chef. Take a dip in the crystal clear, blue lagoon with the in-house snorkeling guide while your chef prepares gourmet temptations in the most intimate of settings. Glassblowing Class – Guided by a team of glass specialists, create your very own masterpiece to take home. All pieces created at the Soneva Glass Studio are made using recycled bottles from Soneva Fushi and other nearby resorts. A personalized tour of the Soneva Art Gallery and Boutique is available upon request. The Den – The Den is where the younger guests can unleash their imagination, creativity, and curiosity. Explore the outdoor pirate ship, take cooking or mocktail classes, learn a musical instrument, or participate in arts and crafts. There is a separate pool for toddlers, as well as a separate area for teenagers.

Snorkel Hanifaru Bay, with Manta Rays – Home to one of the world’s largest populations of manta rays. Conditions and season (June to November*) permitting, watch hundreds of mantas as they feed on plankton. If there are no Mantas, the Marine Biologist will take you to another snorkeling spot.
