Vamizi Private Island

Vamizi Island – 12 km long and up to 2km wide – is one of the northernmost of the Mozambican Quirimbas Islands, located just south of the border to Tanzania and 11 degrees south of the equator. Vamizi operates flights from Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Pemba (Mozambique, accessed via Johannesburg) on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Miles of untouched deserted beaches of powdery white sand, the warmest calm waters just inviting you to do nothing but relax and recharge. With superb diving, blue water fishing, sea kayaking, and snorkelling there are plenty of activities for the active – otherwise there are private picnics, massage therapies and sunrise yoga sessions. Vamizi is located in a marine conservation area monitored by WWF and is exceedingly popular with Green and Hawksbill Turtles who use the island as a nesting site. The three villages situated in the west of the island are an integral part of the island experience, equally pleased to welcome visitors for some cultural exchange.
